We invite you to join Alexandre Pillon of Golaem, Lon Grohs of Chaos Group and Mike Romey of Zoic Studios for an exclusive industry night where you'll learn first hand how to create crowd scenes in a Golaem Crowd/ V-Ray pipeline.

This event will feature live demonstrations and interactive sessions. Our guest speakers will walk through the key features in Golaem Crowd and show a demo of the latest enhancements in V-Ray for Maya. Mike Romey will discuss how the team at Zoic populated the fantasy world of Once Upon A Time with hundreds of digital extras.

Alexandre Pillon Alexandre Pillon, R&D Engineer at Golaem

Alexandre Pillon is co-founder of Golaem and R&D engineer specialized in Graphical User Interfaces and human behavior description. After graduating from INSA in mathematics applied to computer sciences, he spent two years working in Japan. He came back to France to work at INRIA on a research project involving human behavior description. After being responsible for a crowd simulation project targeted to the transport industry, he is now implementing the concepts discovered at INRIA in the Golaem Crowd Behavior Editor.




Mike Romey Mike Romey, Pipeline Supervisor at Zoic Studios

As head of the pipeline department at Zoic, Mike ROMEY is responsible for keeping all aspects of the studio’s pipeline running smoothly. He oversees custom pipeline processes that span a very broad spectrum of visual effects, video engineering and facility management disciplines. He programs, supervises and oversees custom tool development that assists the facility in bidding, scheduling, production, rendering, actualizing and reviewing. Notably, Mike was responsible for creation of Zoic’s virtual production pipeline, ZEUS. Allowing the studio to sustain and produce 200-400+ shots per episode for hit shows such as V, Once Upon a Time and Pan Am.




Lon Grohs Lon Grohs, VP of Business Development at Chaos Group

With over 15 years experience in architecture and architectural visualization, Lon is an award winning artist and animator. Previously, Lon was Creative Director and Principal for the internationally renowned architectural visualization studio, Neoscape, and an Adjunct Professor at the Boston Architectural College. His work has been widely published, and he is an oft-sought speaker for industry conferences and presentations. Lon is a recent addition to the Chaos Group executive team, overseeing the expanding US operations as the firm’s Vice President of Business Development. Lon works closely with Chaos Group partners and customers, developing strategic market initiatives and promoting advancements in rendering technology.
