SOME TOP STUDIOS USING
V-Ray for Rhino:

Veronika Krizova - Interior Design Student & V-Ray for Rhino Artist

Veronika Krizova is twenty years old and a student of interior design in Czech Republic. She became interested in interior design around age 14 but always knew it was something she wanted to do professionally. Interior design is both a hobby and career for Veronika. "I believe people should do what they like and what enriches them at the same time," said Veronika, who spends her free time drawing and designing.

Veronika's school does not currently teach any 3D software courses, so she taught herself how to use the software in her spare time. It was six months ago that Veronika began using Rhino and only two months later she discovered V-Ray on the Rhino forums."I love the V-Ray rendering plug-in because it's very easy to get realistic and eye-catching results in a short amount of time," Veronika said.

We asked Veronika a few questions about her experience with V-Ray and use of the plug-in in the interior design industry. Here is what she had to say.

What can you tell me about 3D visualization software in the interior design industry? Why do interior designers use V-Ray?
Visualizations are the best way how to show clients what their interior will look like before starting with reconstruction or buying things. It is pretty hard to show people just simple line plans to explain them how the mass and colors will work together, so this is very important for 3D visualizers to do their job just right.

What other software applications and rendering engines do you use, or have you tried?
I love V-Ray because of it's wide-range usability, speed and effectiveness. I have tried various render engines, such as Maxwell, Brazil and Flamingo, but none of them are as good and optimized as V-Ray.

What did you find challenging about V-Ray when you first began using the plug-in?
It was complicated for me at first to work with the scene lighting settings to get a photorealistic result.

Who and/or what inspires you?
I was inspired by artworks of Matus Nedecky. I was also wondering how far can I go in CG, what images I am able to produce, and what time does it take to become a professional.

What magazines and/or blogs do you read regularly?
I read websites and blogs posting articles about architecture, design and CG, but there are tons of them.

What can you tell me about the images you submitted to us? Were they for school, work, an internship, or for fun?
I designed interiors in Villa near Bratislava (Slovak Capital), so these are renderings for clients.

Do you have a link to an online portfolio or blog, or website where readers can view more of your work?
