Chaos Group at FMX 2015

We'll be at FMX 2015 for the 20th anniversary of Europe’s most influential conference for animation, effects, games, and transmedia.

At booth #1.3 you can meet the Chaos Group team and learn about the latest developments in V-Ray. We’ll have special crash courses on character design in V-Ray for 3ds Max, and liquid simulations in Phoenix FD.

We'll be hosting a series of presentations by artists from Morro Images, LUXX Studios, Important Looking Pirates, and Mackevision on projects such as Game of Thrones, Grand Budapest Hotel and Crossbones.

In addition, we'll have special educational activities for all the students and educators at FMX 2015.

V-Ray 3.0 for 3ds Max SP1 Now Available

V-Ray 3.0 for 3ds Max Service Pack 1

V-Ray 3.0 for 3ds Max Service Pack 1
is now available for download. V-Ray RT GPU now supports hair and fur, subsurface scattering and light cache. In addition, we’ve added support for Microfacet GTR / GGX BRDF, which is ideal for hard surfaces such as metal.

Other highlights include:

• New VRayInstancer geometric plugin for instancing objects using ParticleFlow systems
• Added support for OpenSubdiv objects in Alembic files
• A number of V-Ray Frame Buffer improvements
• Updated to Embree 2.3; Embree can now accelerate V-Ray Proxy objects, instances and Hair Farm / Ornatrix hair and fur.

V-Ray 3.0 for Softimage SP1 Available

V-Ray 3.0 for Softimage SP1 is now available with several feature refinements. We’ve added a raytraced option to the FastSSS2 material and took care of flickering between renders with the rectangle light.

A new update to V-Ray 2.0 for SketchUp is now available and includes support for SketchUp 2015. V-Ray 2.0 for SketchUp supports the new 64 bit versions of SketchUp 2015 on both Windows and Mac.

V-Ray 2.0 for SketchUp Service Pack 2 is now available for download. This free update is available now for current V-Ray 2.0 for SketchUp artists.

  • V-Ray Express: Users can easily access more than 200 materials and interchangeable lighting setups to create realistic studio scenes and illuminate models faster than ever. V-Ray Express is available separately on the downloads page.
