V-Ray is now available for a number of The Foundry’s key products. V-Ray for MODO, V-Ray for NUKE and V-Ray for KATANA will be unveiled for the first time at SIGGRAPH 2014 and can be seen in action at our booth (#501).
  • V-Ray | MODO – Provides flexibility and production-proven rendering capabilities for MODO artists creating 3D content. Now in public beta.
  • V-Ray | NUKE - Unifies the pipeline between NUKE artists and 3D artists for unprecedented workflow improvements at all stages of production, while providing access to V-Ray's advanced ray tracing capabilities. Now in public beta.
  • V-Ray | KATANA – First used on “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” by Industrial Light & Magic, the industry-leading lighting and look development package is now coupled with industry-standard rendering technology. Available upon request.
Starting today, V-Ray for MODO and NUKE are available as a public beta, and the commercial version of V-Ray for KATANA is ready for purchase.

New V-Ray 3.0 for Maya Beta Update Available

A new update to V-Ray 3.0 for Maya Beta is now available. You may now define render regions using an object selection or image mask using the Render Mask feature. If you’re participating in the public beta, be sure to download this latest version.

•    Simplified render settings user interface
•    VRayFastSSS2/VRaySkinMtl: Optimized raytraced multiple scattering
•    Optimized rendering performance with tiled textures

V-Ray 3.0 Now Supports 3ds Max 2015

A new update for V-Ray 3.0 for 3ds Max is now available for download in the Chaos Group Downloads section. In addition to support for 3ds Max 2015, we’ve added a new VrayPointParticleMtl material.

This update also includes:

•  V-Ray: Added option to the .vrmesh exporter to automatically create a Multi/Sub-Object material when exporting multiple objects in a single file
•  V-Ray RT CPU: Added lights include/exclude list support
•  V-Ray RT: Implemented showing Safe Frame when rendering in a viewport
•  VRayProxy: Added option to render particles as points
•  VRayProxy: Added option to enable/disable Alembic full names support in visibility lists
•  VRayProxy: Added support for hair and particles color channels from Alembic
•  VRayProxy: Make the "Animation offset" parameter animatable

A new update with support for 3ds Max 2015 for V-Ray 2.0 users is also available for download in the Chaos Group download section.
