Pdplayer now offers numerous enhancements and new features 16.06.2011
Pdplayer, the professional image sequence player and viewer for the 3D, CG and VFX industry, distributed by Chaos Group now comes with a full list of improvements.
Now this advanced image sequence player offers you:

The sequence player is famous for its flexibility, exceptional ease of use and lightweight, despite the rich list of features. It supports most industry standard file formats including EXR, HDR, DPX, CIN, R3D, TGA, SGI, IFF, PIC and VRIMG. Multiple layers can be color-corrected and composed together in real time.

Pdplayer 1.0.5.9 has been released. This version adds support for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and Fedora Core 10 or compatible Linux distributions.
The Mac and Linux builds use the same licensing system as the Windows build. Existing customers who already have a license server with available floating licenses can download and use a Mac or Linux build straight away.
Please note that the following features are not supported under Mac OS X and Linux:
- Audio output;
- External device output;
- Live video layers;
- The --attach command line option;
- Watch for New Frames;
- Frame buffer (shared memory) layers;
- HTTP server;
- AVI, MOV and other types of movies (except R3D) on Linux.

The Mac OS X and Linux beta period has ended 20.08.2010
We are no longer accepting applications for the Mac OS X and Linux Pdplayer beta. We thank all the beta testers for their time and feedback. Expect a release soon.

Version 7.1 of Blackmagic Design's Decklink drivers now contains support for 64 bit DirectShow applications. Decklink output now works under Pdplayer 64.

Pdplayer now supports text layers. Use Edit » New Text Layer to insert a text layer, and the Text tab of the property panel to change the attributes of the text.
This release also handles files with '#' in the name, such as img#001.tga, and allows for TIFF as an export format.

Chris Nichols's Pdplayer video tutorials have been made available by Chaos Software. The videos are in AVI format and use TechSmith's Screen Capture Codec (TSCC).
To download, you need to have an account on Chaos Software's website (registration is free). Log in and go to the downloads, then choose the Documentation section. In addition to the videos, you will also be able to download the Pdplayer manual in PDF format. Trial versions of the software can be found in the Pdplayer section.

Pdplayer 1.0.1.25 has been released05.12.2008
This is primarily a maintenance release. It fixes several issues identified by our users, such as incorrect alpha for 16 bit TIFF images, problems with the audio playback when multiple audio layers are present, and more. One notable new feature is the ability to copy and paste layers and color corrections, even from one Pdplayer instance to another.
