The latest in V-Ray 2.0 for Maya and V-Ray for 3ds Max
(Konstantin Gaytandzhiev, Chaos Group and Billy Pang, Jadason Technology Ltd.)

• RT- CPU/GPU - unprecedented speed and flexibility achieved with the V-Ray interactive rendering system
• Car paint material - create stunning car paint shaders complete with base, flake and coat layers
• Distance texture - use procedurally generated textures to create a wide range of effects based on the distance between various objects in the scene
• Multi-sub texture - assign different textures based on object ID
• Light select render element - extract the contribution of each light to the scene, change their intensity in post-production and compose them back together
• Stereoscopic helper - quickly set up stereoscopic images and animations
• Lens analysis utility - easily match the distortion of your real world and your virtual cameras
• Lens effects - add a full range of bloom and glare effects

Phoenix FD 2.0 - the fluid dynamics simulator for smoke and fire now with support for liquids, foam and splashes simulations
(Konstantin Gaytandzhiev, Chaos Group)

This presentation showcases some of the key features of Phoenix FD. In an interactive "play around" session we will see how fast and easy it is to create flame and smoke simulations, fuel explosions as well as flowing liquids with foam and splashes. Stop by our booth to experience Phoenix FD 2.0 for the first time at SIGGRAPH Asia with a great new features and improved GPU capabilities.

Creating realistic crowds by using a Golaem Crowd to V-Ray workflow
(Daniel Trusca, R&D Software Engineer, Golaem
)

Discover how to easily create realistic crowds of thousands of unique characters by using a Golaem Crowd to V-Ray workflow. Via a case study, this talk will highlight how to use the Golaem Crowd tools to precisely control your crowd visual diversity (props, shaders…) at render time and render it efficiently with V-Ray.

Developed and tested under real production conditions, Golaem Crowd for Maya allows to simulate complex and controllable crowds of bipeds and quadrupeds in just few minutes. Based on Maya® workaday objects (particles, fields…) and tools, it provides a greater control to 3d artists and a new way of dealing with a large amount of characters.
