An educational institution, or a student/staff member at the institution, may use our Educational licenses for educational purposes only and not for commercial for-profit work, transfer, or resale.

Eligibility and pricing information:

A. Universities/Educational Institutions licenses

"Universities/Educational institutions" are defined as those dedicated to education, including a public or private, school or a two-year or four-year college or university or career school which is accredited by a state or other appropriate governmental agency or organization. An educational institution is not a government or nonprofit agency, a commercial customer, a corporate training environment, or other training program or center that serves commercial or professional customers. Universities/Educational institutions should purchase software with documentation issued by the institution. The following Bundles are available to Educational institutions under our Educational Policy (the minimum amount per order is 2 university bundles):

B. Student/Teacher Educational license

A "Student/Teacher“ is a person who can confirm enrollment/employment at a degree-granting educational institution. Students and staff must present current student ID or current proof of employment at the educational institution to purchase a license. Students and staff may purchase up to 1 (one) license from the options below:

1. V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max EDU license – 74 EUR /114 USD/ 67 GBP per license

2. V-Ray 2.0 for Maya EDU license – 74 EUR /114 USD/ 67 GBP per license

3. V-Ray 1.5 for Softimage EDU license – 74 EUR/ 114 USD/ 67 GBP GBP per license

4. V-Ray 1.5 for Rhino EDU license – 180 EUR/ 250 USD/ 160 GBP per license

5. V-Ray for Sketchup EDU license – 180 EUR/ 250 USD/ 160 GBP per license

6. Student Bundle V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max EDU + V-Ray 2.0 for Maya EDU – 105 EUR/ 162 USD/ 96 GBP per license

Educational Upgrades:

Upgrades from V-Ray 1.5 EDU to V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max EDU

A. All educational customers, both students and universities/high schools, who have purchased V-Ray licenses after 1st January 2010, receive free upgrade to V-Ray 2.0 educational.

B. V-Ray 2.0 Educational Upgrade Pricing applicable to all licenses purchased prior to 1st January 2010

⇒ Students/teachers are not eligible to an upgrade and have to buy new licenses showing a new proof of their student/teacher’s status at the following prices:

1. V-Ray for 3ds Max EDU license – 74 EUR /114 USD/ 67 GBP per license

2. V-Ray for Maya EDU license – 74 EUR /114 USD/ 67 GBP per license

3. Student Bundle V-Ray for 3ds Max + V-Ray for Maya – 105 EUR/ 162 USD/ 96 GBP per license

⇒ Universities and educational institutions are eligible to the following upgrades:

1. V-Ray for 3ds Max EDU to University Bundle V-Ray for 3ds Max + Pdplayer – (51 EUR/ 79 USD/ 47 GBP)

2. V-Ray for 3ds Max EDU to University Bundle V-Ray for 3ds Max + V-Ray for Maya + Pdplayer – (93 EUR/ 143 USD/ 85 GBP)

*Volume discounts are available for upgrade orders bigger than 20 bundles.

Upgrades from V-Ray 1.5 EDU to V-Ray 2.0 for Maya EDU

All educational customers who purchased prior to 3rd of May 2011, both students and universities/high schools, are eligible to receive a FREE upgrade to V-Ray 2.0 Maya educational after May3rd, 2011.

Upgrade from V-Ray EDU for Rhino to V-Ray 1.5 EDU for Rhino -  free of charge

Upgrade from an EDU to Commercial (ADV) license is only available for students and teachers. Universities and high schools ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for this option
