It’s A Wrap!
Chaos Group heads home after a successful five-city tour of North America
After more than fifteen days of travel, Chaos Group has officially concluded their five-city North American
V-Ray Tour! The tour gave the Chaos Group team the opportunity to shake hands with 3D professionals interested in Chaos Group’s trendsetting rendering technologies, share stories from top studios who use
V-Ray, and promote the release of V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max, V-Ray 2.0 for Maya Beta, Phoenix FD, and Pdplayer.

New York City, New York, USA
Chaos Group began the tour with a stop in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood on March 21st. Joined by the newly acquired Chaos Group USA team, approximately 140 attendees traveled from all parts of the northeast corridor to learn about the latest developments in V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max and Maya.By presenting a collection of impressive stills and animations, Principal and Creative Director of Neoscape, Lon Gros, showed how V-Ray for 3ds Max has played a vital role in the high quality imagery produced by the design team at Neoscape. The event ended with a preview of new features included in the recently updated Phoenix FD and Pdplayer by Peter Mitev.

Los Angeles, California, USA
The team then flew to Hollywood on March 24th to showcase V-Ray 2.0 for Maya to 3D professionals in the VFX and Film Industries. Alongside partners RFX, Chaos Group organized a must see program with presentations by Christopher Nichols, Lighting Lead at Digital Domain, Ludovico Marenzi of Mackevision, and VFX Artist Scott Metzger of Method Studios. All of the presentations were well accepted by the 130 attendees.Vancouver, Canada
Adding a stamp to their passports, Chaos Group crossed the border to Canada to meet in Vancouver’s Granville Entertainment District at the Caprice Nightclub on March 29th. After registration and cocktails, the 80 attendees were awed by presentations by Alex Wang of Digital Domain followed by benchmarking visualization projects shown by Heiko Wenczel of Mackevision.Montreal, Canada
Second to last on their tour was a visit to the L’Auberge Saint-Gabriel in Montreal on March 31st. Chaos Group demoed V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max and Maya to a captive audience of about 100 3D enthusiasts. Heiko Wenczel of Mackevision stole the show with “Picture Shooter – workflow for Corporate Media Generation,” where he explained how Mackevision uses V-Ray in their visualization process.
Toronto, Canada
Before heading back to Bulgaria, the Chaos Group team welcomed people to The Field House at the Burkeley Church in Toronto on April 5th. Michael Starr and Spencer Rand of Cicada Design, Inc explained complex projects and engaging narratives before passing the podium to Heiko Wenczel of Mackevision.“Having the opportunity to travel to North America to meet our user base was an essential piece of Chaos Group’s year,” said Peter Mitev, CEO of Chaos Group. “We not only wanted to generate excitement about our products, but also to hear new ideas and see the success stories that V-Ray helped to accomplish. This was about giving back to the community that has whole-heartedly supported us for so long. We were very glad to see some old friends, and welcome quite a bit of new ones!”
