There are a few tests out for the AMD 7970 since last month.
    http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-ra...d-7970-review/
    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7970/

Just released smaller PCS+ 7950 3GB got good reviews:
    http://www.overclockers.com/powercol...cs-gpu-review/

But if you are looking for a test how these cards perform with V-Ray, i´m waiting too.

Found the attached comparison chart which includes 7970 for Luxmark 1.1 benchmark (CL). So the new architecture is performing well.
It seems to be difficult to get the horsepower on the street.

anybody tested the 7970 card yet with VRAY RT and see what is the viewport performance? All those other benchmarks are useless. I want to know how it performs with Vray and 3ds Max
      Kind Regards,

I have not been able to run V-Ray RT on those cards with the latest AMD drivers (12.3 I think); video driver just crashes when trying to compile the OpenCL code.

          Best regards,
          Vlado

This may be a long shot and sound strange, but install the latest LAN driver for your pc first and THEN only install the AMD graphics driver and then try to compile the OpenCL
            just try it

I had problems installing anything past driver 11.8. Was just about to switch to NVidia when I spotted on another forum somebody mention that the LAN driver somehow messes with the AMD driver. After updating my LAN driver, needless to say I was VERY surprised that now suddenly I could install the latest AMD driver.
            Very weird
            Kind Regards,

on Friday Vlado mentioned in another thread he was still having problems. Not sure though if he tried the LAN trick I mentioned yet...

I updated my LAN driver from Windows Update, but this alone didn't seem to change anything - perhaps I need to reinstall the AMD drivers again.

                      Best regards,

Are you kidding me? You should NEVER use windows update to update drivers. Go to the manufacturer website and get it from there
Also, AMD released new drivers yesterday

im guessing not.. lets face it, if ati cards were suddenly working properly with RT, i think vlado might be shouting it on the front page or something.
