  • SAAB commercial entirely done in VRay

A very similar team to Mezzo using similar methods rendered this all with vray....

    go to work
    click on saab

Compositing is nuke. DI and conform in Scratch.

little fact for everyone...the forest shot has 280million polys rendering in it using vray proxies. took about 1.5 hours per frame. vray rules.

        Very nice!!

I failed to see even the slightest bit of QMC noise though.... what settings were you using to get no noise and 1.5hr renders?!!!

did you use QMC GI for rendering?
                  3d motionblur?

i didnt understand the "story" but it looks very nice.

almost all the shots had 3d motion blur.
qmc gi was the way we rendered everything. all outside scenes were lit with a single hdri and no other lights.
interior was lit with vray lights really simply and just kinda worked out
additionally, we used terragen to generate the exterior hdris.

the 280 million polys were from those trees and just normal render settings got us those kinda render times. opteron 275's are what's on our farm.
i think we were around 1, 20, .003 for the qmc settings.
