  • VRayFur styler

    Hello,

Here is a simple plugin that can be used to style VRayFur using a paint-like approach; it's a little complicated to set up, but you can get some nice results with it:

It is specifically made for the directional maps; for the rest you can use the normal VertexPaint modifier.

I vlado, yes, i know that for the other map you only need a B/W map and that i can to do this with VertexPaint modifier, but it's usefull to have all maps in one modifier. Another wishlist?

            Bye

              Hi...great plugin...thanks Vlado.
Coincidentally I was jsut going to post about VrayFur Because I'm trying to make a "shag rug" using it.
I'm wondering theres any way to assign diferent color to each strand like in the picture.
I would be nice to be able to assign diferent matID to the strands or any other method like getting its color from the material applied to the source object.
Is something like this in the TODO list???
              Thanks again

Just use a very fine Noise map with UVW mapping, should do the trick.

                Best regards,

                  Hi Vlado!
When used in max9 64, you lose the preview for both VrayFur and VRayFurStyler.
Makes it a bit hard to use...

Hi. Wondering if this will get an update for max 2010. I have had some thoughts on using this to paint directions for the autograss plugin. Does it generate the same rgb values ? ( I.E 1,0.5,0.5 = positive X and 0.5,0.5,1 is straight up as described in the autograss docs).

Hmm...somehow didn't see the 2 posts asking for a 2010 version before me
