The mad mechs return in Blur Studio's trailer
2014 videogame "Titanfall" was a hugely successful shot in the arm for the giant robot shooty genre. Its sequel, released earlier this year, amps up the original’s premise with new weaponry, tactics and settings.
To create the trailer for the game, developer Respawn Entertainment turned to Blur Studio. Its "Titanfall 2" trailer, subtitled "Become One," is a snapshot of the life of one man and his enormous robot costume. They travel from desert to forest, bond over a campfire, and mercilessly and violently obliterate the enemy.
Directed by Blur’s Dave Wilson, the spot used live-action footage shot on Red and Alexa, with effects via V-Ray. Would you like to know more? FXphd has a nice little piece on the spot, and a making-of video is available on Vimeo.
